Biography of architectural photographer Mike Kelley. < Back 0 Click here to log in and like Source: Mike Kelley Website Updated: September 24, 2023 Mike Kelley - Architectural Photographer and Educator Biography of architectural photographer Mike Kelley. mpkelley.com I'm a photographer based in Los Angeles, California who specializes in photographing architecture; I also have a mild airplane obsession. I grew up in Ipswich, Massachusetts: a small coastal town that's one part postcard and one part dramatic Boston movie. Here I was lucky enough to meet a number of amazing teachers who opened my eyes to the world of art and design; this would alter the path of my life in more ways than I could ever imagine. After studying studio art and environmental science at the University of Vermont, I moved to Lake Tahoe, California, in hopes of becoming a professional snowboarder (graduating right after the '08 recession made this seem like a great idea). A couple of years and too many injuries later, I found myself taking up an offer to photograph a few homes for a client I'd met while recuperating. What started by chance turned out to be the perfect mix of technical challenge and creative outlet, and I decided right there and then that it absolutely must be my career. In 2018, I founded the Architectural Photography Almanac , a resource for architecture photographers and those in the architecture industry seeking to learn about the craft and theory of architectural photography. This means that you and Archidoodles both agree to waive the right to a trial by jury. Class Action Waiver You and Archidoodles agree that any proceedings to resolve Disputes will be conducted on an individual basis and not in a class, consolidated, or representative action. This means that, in connection with any Dispute, you and Archidoodles both agree to waive the right to participate as a plaintiff as a class member in any class action proceeding. Further, unless you and Archidoodles agree otherwise in writing, the arbitrator in any Dispute may not consolidate more than one person's claims and may not preside over any form of class action proceeding. Arbitration Administration and Rules The arbitration will be administered by the American Arbitration Association ("AAA") in accordance with the Consumer Arbitration Rules (if you use Archidoodles Websites as a consumer) or Commercial Arbitration Rules (if you are a provider, vendor, seller or other business), as applicable and then in effect (the "AAA Rules"), except as modified by this "Dispute Resolution” section. (The AAA Rules are available at http://www.adr.org ). Arbitration Process A party who desires to initiate arbitration must provide the other party with a written Demand for Arbitration as specified in the AAA Rules. The arbitrator will be either a retired judge or an attorney licensed to practice law and will be selected by the parties from the AAA's roster of arbitrators with relevant experience. If the parties are unable to agree upon an arbitrator within 7 days of delivery of the Demand for Arbitration, then the AAA will appoint the arbitrator in accordance with AAA Rules. Arbitration Location and Procedure The seat of the arbitration shall be in Houston, Texas, unless you and Archidoodles agree otherwise or the AAA Rules or AAA Consumer Due Process Protocol, as applicable, require otherwise. If your claim does not exceed USD$10,000.00, then the arbitration will be conducted solely on the basis of documents you and Archidoodles submit to the arbitrator, unless you request a hearing and the arbitrator then determines that a hearing is necessary. If your claim exceeds USD$10,000.00, your right to a hearing will be determined by AAA Rules. Subject to AAA Rules, the arbitrator will have the discretion to direct a reasonable exchange of information by the parties, consistent with the expedited nature of the arbitration. Hearings may be conducted by telephone or video conference, if requested and agreed to by the parties. Arbitrator's Decision and Governing Law The arbitrator shall apply Texas law consistent with the Federal Arbitration Act and applicable statutes of limitations and shall honor claims of privilege recognized by law. The arbitrator will render an award within the timeframe specified in the AAA Rules. Judgment on the arbitration may be entered in any court having jurisdiction thereof. The arbitrator may award declaratory or injunctive relief in favor of the claimant only to the extent necessary to provide relief warranted by the claimant's individual claim. Fees Each party's responsibility to pay the arbitration filing, administrative and arbitrator fees will depend on the circumstances of the arbitration and are set forth in the AAA Rules. Provider Projects You agree that any Projects posted on Archidoodles represent work that your business participated in, and you will not claim credit for the work of others. Affiliations Archidoodles allows a Provider to affiliate their business with other Providers who are Suppliers, Distributors, company offices, or have other direct affiliations with the Provider. You represent that any Provider who is affiliated with your Provider Profiles maintains a legal contractual relationship with you.
