ONYX Constructors recently completed Balden Contract Group’s new 3,079-square-foot showroom in Houston - a thoughtfully designed, modern workspace that blends functionality, flexibility, and elevated aesthetics. This interior build-out transforms the space into a dynamic environment that showcases both product and performance, while supporting collaboration and day-to-day operations. Designed by Taft Studio, the showroom features an open, hospitality-driven layout with a seamless flow between collaborative areas, office space, and display zones. Key highlights include custom acoustic ceiling baffles, exposed structure with coordinated lighting and MEP systems, soft flooring transitions, and custom millwork throughout. One of the primary challenges of the project was coordinating the exposed MEP systems with the architectural and acoustic ceiling elements to maintain a cohesive, uncluttered appearance. Close collaboration between ONYX Constructors, Taft Studio, and E.B.E. MEP Consulting Engineers ensured precise alignment of all systems while preserving the design intent. The result is a refined and versatile showroom environment that reflects Balden Contract Group’s brand and provides a welcoming, high-performance space for both employees and clients.
